Maximizing Your Magview Digiscoping Experience: Essential Tips and Tricks

Digiscoping is an incredible way to capture the beauty of nature with your smartphone, and with Magview’s digiscoping adapters, it’s never been easier. In this post, we’ll share some simple yet effective tips to help you get the most out of your Magview adapter, based on our latest how-to video. Whether you’re using a spotting scope or binoculars, these tricks will enhance your experience and improve your results.

1. Get Started with the Magview App

First things first, make sure to download the Magview app. This handy tool not only helps you capture stunning images and videos but also provides features like a centering dot and grid to ensure perfect alignment every time. The app is user-friendly and a must-have for anyone serious about digiscoping.

2. Chase the Light for Perfect Alignment

One of the most common challenges in digiscoping is aligning your phone’s camera with the spotting scope or binocular lens. To make this easier, use the centering dot in the app. As you move your phone, keep the dot in the center of the grid. This technique, known as “chasing the light,” ensures that your camera is perfectly aligned with the lens, giving you the best possible image quality.

3. Eliminate Shadows by Chasing Them

Sometimes, you might notice a partial alignment or a shadow on your screen. If this happens, simply move your phone towards the shadow. This might seem counterintuitive, but by “chasing the shadow,” you’ll bring the camera and lens into better alignment, resulting in a clearer image.

4. Get Rid of the Black Ring

If you see a black ring around your image, don’t worry—it’s an easy fix. Magview’s S1 and S1 mini spotting scope adapters come with eye relief spacers designed to eliminate this issue. Attach the spacers to adjust the distance between your phone and the lens, or use your phone’s zoom function, either through the camera or within the app, to remove the black ring from your view.

5. Switching Between Portrait and Landscape with the B1 Adapter

If you’re using the B1 binocular adapter, switching between portrait and landscape mode is a breeze. Simply rotate your binoculars to change the orientation of your shot. This flexibility allows you to capture the perfect image, no matter the situation.

By following these tips, you’ll be able to take full advantage of your Magview digiscoping adapter and capture stunning images with ease. Make sure to watch the embedded video for a step-by-step guide, and happy digiscoping!
